World Suicide Prevention Day
Walk of Life
Community Action for the Prevention of Suicide (CAPS) is a not-for-profit community association based in Brisbane, working to support people at risk of suicide.
As we do not receive government funding we rely solely on the generosity of individuals in the community for donations to enable us to continue our work. These much needed funds enable us to provide a unique support service entirely focused on the individual to coordinate care, attention and emotional support for people at risk of suicide, and for those who are concerned for someone at risk.
Long time supporter of CAPS, Carole Walton is once again making a pilgrimage across France for the 2014 Walk for Life. The Walk for Life aims to increase awareness of the prevalence of suicide and raises vital funds to enable CAPS to continue supporting those at risk of suicide. ” CAPS TALK SUICIDE Support Service is unique and vital in reducing the number of lives lost to suicide” said Carole ” I hope to raise even more funds than in 2013 with a goal of raising at least $10,000 which will go into directly supporting those at risk”.
Known as the “Way of Saint James” the pilgrimage will begin in Notre Dame du Puy-en-Velay continue across the Tarn and the Adour and finish at Saint-Jean-Pien-di-Port. We wish Carole a safe and enjoyable journey.
